It was February 14 when Dwayne Brock fell victim to auto theft. It was allegedly at the hands of 41-year-old Stephen Patterson.
SAN ANTONIO — The suspect who police say shot a man in Schertz is the same man accused of stealing a $70,000 RV in San Antonio.
Police say hat suspect, 41-year-old Stephen Patterson, is still at large following Tuesday’s shooting. We spoke with the RV’s owner who was shocked to learn of the link between the cases.
It was last month when Dwayne Brock fell victim to auto theft. It was allegedly at the hands of Stephen Patterson.
“I want them to catch him because he’s hurting people,” Brock said. “He’s like a rouge elephant they need to get him off the streets.”
We received surveillance images, allegedly showing Patterson committing the theft in February.
“I was just kind of shocked that you know he committed another crime so soon,” he said.
On Tuesday around 2:30 in the afternoon, Schertz police responded to a shooting on Aranda Lane.
Schertz police say an argument between two residents escalated to shots being fired. The victim in that shooting was hit in the right upper thigh.
Schertz police say they’re looking for Patterson, who police say “seriously injured” that man.
Investigators say Patterson is believed to be driving a green 2006 GMC Z71.
Back in San Antonio, the whereabouts of Brock’s RV is unknown.
“I’m not too sure where it is but we’re just hoping that they can find it,” he said.
Schertz police is asking the public if they see or know the whereabouts of Patterson to contact the Schertz Police Department at 210-619-1200 or 911.
