SHAVANO PARK, Texas — The suspect who police say fired a shot in a Shavano Park Italian restaurant Thursday night has turned himself in to investigators.
Officials say 37-year-old Bruce William Gil voluntarily surrendered himself while being accompanied by his attorney.
The firearm used during the crime, as well as the vehicle Gil used to flee the scene, were recovered as well.
Gil has been booked into the Bexar County Detention Center and is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct-discharge firearm.
According to the Shavano Park assistant city manager, police were called to the Paesanos Restaurant located in the 3600 block of Paesanos Parkway for a shooting in progress.
At about 9:30 p.m., witnesses told police a fight took place inside the restaurant. One of the men involved in the fight allegedly took out a weapon and fired a shot into the ground. A man was grazed by bullet fragments and sustained minor injuries. He was taken to the hospital.
Officials say Gil fled the location before police could arrive in a white Chevrolet Silverado.
The fight was captured on surveillance video, according to police.
