Sheriff Javier Salazar said the incident is part of a disturbing trend of drug-related shootings involving young victims.
SAN ANTONIO — A shooting led to the discovery of narcotics and weapons at a far west-side San Antonio home and the arrest of a father and son, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said it all started when deputies responded to a shooting on the 400 block of Bluegrass Creek near 1604 and Potranco early Monday morning.
Salazar said deputies discovered a wounded 16-year-old boy who had been shot in an suspected drug deal gone wrong.
Investigators said the young man had met with the suspect(s) to sell THC vapes when they attempted to rob him and ultimately shot and wounded him.
According to BCSO, investigators went to the home of the shooting victim in search of evidence related to the shooting, where they made a shocking discovery.
The sheriff said investigators seized an estimated $150,000 worth of marijuana, THC vape products and guns from inside the home.

Two relatives of the 16-year-old shooting victim were arrested: 18-year-old Dakota Henry and 42-year-old Elliot Henry — who officials said is the biological father of Dakota and the shooting victim.
Both face multiple charges including manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance, tampering with identification numbers and possession of marijuana.
“Mr. Henry knowingly allowed his child to be involved in this high-risk lifestyle that ultimately got this young man shot,” said Sheriff Javier Salazar.

Salazar said this incident is part of a disturbing trend of drug-related shootings involving young victims, often over misdemeanor marijuana and THC vape cartridges. He urges parents to be aware of what their children are doing.
“The scarier thing about this stuff is not necessarily the potency or the strength… It is what these kids are willing to do to each other over this stuff,” he said.
It is unclear at this time if the 16-year-old shooting victim will face any charges. Salazar said BCSO is in the process of getting Child Protective Services involved.
Meanwhile, investigators are asking for help in the search for the shooting suspect(s). Officials are searching for a a dark blue or teal-colored vehicle captured on surveillance video.
