
It happened on Monday night around 9:15 p.m. and police are still searching for the suspect involved.
SEGUIN, Texas — An 8-year-old girl was shot inside her home in Seguin on Monday and two adults are now facing charges, police say. The shooting prompted the evacuation of a neighborhood Little League field.
It happened around 9:15 p.m. Monday evening in the 900 block of Pecan Street near Highway 123.
Police say the child was inside her home when she was hit by a bullet that was fired outside the home. Before emergency crews were able to get to the scene, the girl was taken by private vehicle to Guadalupe Regional Medical Center. She was later transferred by Seguin EMS to University Hospital in San Antonio and is in stable condition.
Two suspects were identified and investigators obtained warrants for their arrest. Police say Isaac Montelongo. 20, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Vanessa Herrera, 22, is also facing a charge of assault/family violence. Police are still looking for those suspects.
The sound of gunshots was heard at a youth softball game forced the evacuation of all those in attendance at the games at Seguin Little League Fields, according to Seguin police.
At this time, there is no known threat to the public, and all leads are being thoroughly investigated.
