SAPD said a woman told officers that her husband had assaulted her with a firearm. She was able to exit the home safely with her children.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police said a family violence incident escalated, prompting a SWAT response at an east-side neighborhood on Monday.
SAPD said officers arrived just after 11 a.m. to a home in the 300 block of Longview Drive, near East Houston and South WW White, for reports of a shooting in progress. Officials said they also received a call from a woman who claimed her husband was the suspect.
Upon arrival, police said, the woman had safely exited the home with her children and told officers her husband had assaulted her with a firearm.
Officials said the suspect is believed to be the only person still inside the home as of 2:30 p.m.

Police were able to obtain arrest and search warrants, adding SWAT negotiators had taken over to try and get the suspect to come out peacefully.
Police said the woman and her children are in good condition; no one else was hurt.
The suspect has been in contact with police for several hours, according to officials. No arrests have been made at this time but police say when the suspect is taken into custody, he is expected to face a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
This is a developing story.
