SWAT situation on east side ends after six hour standoff with police

Police believe this could have been connected to another shooting on Sunday.

SAN ANTONIO — A SWAT situation on the east side has wrapped after a six hour standoff with police.

Police believe this could be connected to another shooting that happened on Sunday.

This happened around 8 p.m. at a home on Potomac street. We’re told it wasn’t until 2 a.m. that the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody.

Police surrounded the home trying to get the person to surrender by using negotiators and tear gas.

Witnesses told us the person was taken into custody, but we are still trying to get police to confirm who they have in custody and what charges they might be facing.

Those witnesses, who are also family members of a shooting victim from Sunday, believe this standoff was connected to their loved one’s death.

In that case, police say 19-year-old Jorgan Bocanegra was shot and killed on East Commerce Street Sunday morning at Stanley’s Gas station.

The family believes Bocanegra and another young man had an ongoing dispute and that young man shot 19-year-old Bocanegra in the head..

We’ve reached out to police and are waiting for more information, including confirmation that the standoff was related to Sunday’s shooting..
No arrests have been made at this time.

This is a developing story.
