SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police were asking residents in the area of Glen Ridge Drive and Evers Road to shelter in place Monday night as they worked to apprehend an older man who was allegedly firing shots at random, causing bullets to pierce some units, authorities at the scene said.
According to SAPD Public Information Officer Camelia Juarez, SWAT had “an eye” on the unidentified suspect as of 10 p.m. and was working to detain him while using drones, cameras and other technology.
“Anybody who is in this area, if you live in this area, do not come to this area,” she said around 10:10 p.m. Monday. “It’s completely blocked off.”
Juarez said officers also responded to the same area Sunday for reports of a “suspicious vehicle and someone firing shots.” It’s believed the same suspect was involved. Juarez said they know the man but were waiting until he was in custody to identify him, saying only he was in his 60s.
This is a developing story.
