Taekwondo instructor accused of inappropriately touching student

Arrest documents say the touching started out as “playful wrestling” and then escalated.

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio taekwondo instructor is accused of touching a child inappropriately after a student made an outcry to his mother, arrest documents say.

Bach Quang Truong, 24, is facing a charge of indecency with a child by contact.

Documents say the child victim told investigators in an interview that the suspect repeatedly grabbed his private parts over the last few months. The documents say it started out as “playful wrestling” and then escalated to grabbing the child’s private parts over his clothes for 10 seconds.

The child also told officers on Saturday that the suspect put the child in a chokehold and restricted his airways while his mom had gone to the kitchen. The victim’s mother showed officers pictures of the child’s injuries from the incident, the arrest documents say.

Before that, the victim’s mother told officers she had been concerned about inappropriate comments the suspect made about her son’s buttocks, the arrest documents said. She reportedly told the suspect she no longer wanted him around and the suspect responded with threats to harm the child’s taekwondo career.

Again, Bach Quang Truong faces a charge of indecency with a child by contact.
