Is H-E-B open on Easter? Here are the store hours.

With Easter here, people are rushing to grocery stores to buy much-needed items like potato salad, chicken, brisket, basket fillers and chocolate bunnies. But you have to go before Easter Sunday, because some beloved grocers are closed.

San Antonio-based H-E-B is closed on Easter on Sunday, April 5, according to its website. Central Market will also be closed on Easter Sunday. No Curbside or home delivery order services will be available that day.

Don’t worry, H-E-B won’t be closed for long. It will open on Monday, April 6, with regular hours, and curbside and home delivery will begin at 9 a.m., according to its website.

Easter isn’t recognized as a federal holiday in the United States, partly because it always falls on a Sunday, when federal offices are already closed. While not a federal holiday, it is a significant religious holiday and some private businesses may choose to close.
