This is happening in addition to the search and rescue efforts that stretch from Hunt all the way to Canyon Lake.
Teams in Kerr County are still going door to door to check on those returning back and starting recovery.
The crews are having to perform welfare checks in-person with much of the county who are still without power.
This is happening in addition to the search and rescue efforts that stretch from Hunt all the way to Canyon Lake. Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice said it’s an over a 62-mile distance in a straight line.
19 agencies are conducting those search and rescue efforts.
And for those in North Kerr County, like in Hunt, where power is being restored, they’ll also be also be checking up on them.
“As of present, K-PUB, which is a Kerrville Public Utility Board, is reporting continued power outages between Hunt and Ingram along the South Fork of the Guadalupe River and hunt in the South Fork area,” said Dalton Rice, Kerrville City Manager. “There are approximately 40 downed power lines and significant infrastructure damage. Cape Hope has brought in additional utility personnel to help with restoration, but it’s not possible at this time, when the power is going to be restored.”
There are sub stations, they say that K-PUB can’t even access because of the debris build up blocking them, so there’s really no estimate on when power will be restored in that area.
K-PUB did say that power was restored to three of the largest outage areas in West Kerr County.
