HOUSTON — We’re learning more about what led to scary moments during Beyoncé‘s sold-out “Cowboy Carter” concert at NRG Stadium on Saturday night.
During the Houston superstar’s performance of the song “16 Carriages,” the car prop that Beyoncé was seated in high over the crowd started to tilt. In video posted to social media, you can hear Beyoncé call out, “Stop, stop, stop, stop…”
The show was briefly stopped for the car to be lowered. Beyoncé was able to get out safely and then get back onto the stage.
On Sunday morning, Beyoncé’s company, Parkwood Entertainment, released a statement, saying, “Tonight in Houston, at NRG Stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop Beyoncé uses to circle the stadium, and see her fans up close, to tilt. She was quickly lowered and no one was injured. The show continued without incident.”
After she was safely on the ground, more video shows Beyoncé calling out to the crowd, “I want to thank y’all for loving me. If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.”
She then continued on with the song.
At this point, it’s not clear if the car will be used in the second of Beyoncé two shows at NRG Stadium Sunday.
