And once again, his request was denied.
The issue being considered in Judge Cruz Shaw’s courtroom was if the teen could be released from detention while the case continues.
The defense argued the teen was a good student and did not have a history of getting into trouble. They also said the teen had no issues on living with his grandmother, who reportedly wanted him back under her custody.
The prosecution said there was too many factors in the teen’s accusation that would make him a threat if released back in the community.
Judge Shaw sided with the prosecution to keep the teen detained.
Back in May, the teen was arrested by police, accused of plotting an attack at the middle school. His mother, Ashley Pardo was also arrested, accused of helping her son get tactical gear and ammunition to plan the attack.
Months before his arrest, San Antonio police were called to the school over “concerning drawings” and a map labeled suicide route, according to court documents. The teen reportedly wrote out the name of the school with a muzzle flash drawn above it along with time stamps.
At the time, police say his mother “expressed to the school her support” and wasn’t concerned.
The teen’s next hearing is scheduled for September 11.
