
Police said the teen was shot once in the buttocks while walking in the 200 block of Whitewood Street on Friday night.
SAN ANTONIO — A 17-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital in critical condition Friday night after he was reportedly shot while walking in a southwest-side neighborhood, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
SAPD said officers were called to the 200 block of Whitewood Street around 9:30 p.m. after reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they discovered a teen who told investigators he was walking in the area when someone began shooting.
Police said the teen was struck once in the buttocks. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Investigators located shell casings in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex, officials said. No other injuries were reported.
No suspect information was provided and it remains unclear at this time what led up to the shooting.
