Teen dead after falling out of pickup truck bed, police say

The 15-year-old boy was riding in the back of the truck with several other people when he fell out.

SAN ANTONIO — A teenage boy is dead after police say he fell out of the back of a pickup truck at a sports complex on the east side of town.

Officers from SAPD as well as Park Police responded to the Wheatly Heights Sports Complex on Upland Road around 5 p.m. Sunday for reports of an accident.

Police say that a 15-year-old boy was found deceased at the location after 911 was called to report an accident, but the driver did not wait for police to arrive before leaving.

Police are searching for the suspect, who they say is a juvenile female. She may have been the driver of a 2019 Dodge Ram truck that had four people in the back when one of them fell out.

That driver called 911 and waited until EMS arrived but left before Police arrived and did not provide her information.

The victim was pronounced deceased by EMS.

Police say the suspect’s vehicle has been located, however this case remains under investigation.
