It happened just after 6 a.m. in the 6000 block of Danny Kaye Drive near Babcock Road.
SAN ANTONIO — A teen girl was killed in an apartment parking lot in the Medical Center area early Monday morning, according to San Antonio police.
Officers were called around 6:10 a.m. to the 6000 block of Danny Kaye Drive near Babcock Road, at the Camaron Townhomes and Flats.
San Antonio Fire Department officials confirmed the teen was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Officer Nicholas Evans with SAPD said witnesses told investigators the girl, believed to be about 15 years old and a resident of the complex, was hit by a vehicle in the parking lot. The driver reportedly took off from area before officers arrived.
Police say the driver who hit her was identified later in the morning and was unaware of the accident at the time. Police are calling it an accident and say they do not expect that the driver will face charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
