Teen hospitalized after allegedly causing head-on crash while leading trooper on chase in west-side SA

Texas DPS said a 17-year-old male in a gray Honda Accord crashed head on with another vehicle while evading authorities.

SAN ANTONIO — A teen was hospitalized for evaluation Monday afternoon after leading a Texas DPS trooper on a chase in the city’s west side.

Texas DPS said a 17-year-old male in a gray Honda Accord disregarded the trooper’s efforts to attempt a traffic stop while traveling north on General McMullen Drive.

While evading the trooper, DPS says the teen crashed head on with a red Ford F150 near the intersection of Fortuna Drive and NW 36th Street and sustained injuries. He was transported to Baptist Hospital for evaluation and charges are pending upon his release.

Authorities said a 67-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the Ford F150 was not injured in the collision.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
