San Antonio police say they’re still looking for the suspects.
SAN ANTONIO — As San Antonio police continue searching for the gunman in a deadly drive-by shooting on the northeast side, authorities have identified the young victim.
The Bexar County medical examiner said Lamarcus Willis, 16, was the teen killed when he was shot Wednesday afternoon outside an apartment complex in the area of Toepperwein and Interstate 35.
He had just celebrated his birthday on March 10.
At around 5 p.m., SAPD responded to the complex in the 14000 block of Fratelli Road for reports of gunfire. According to a preliminary police report, “officers arrived and located (Willis) outside, who had multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso.”
Willis was taken to a hospital where he later died.
A sergeant at the scene said he was standing outside of the complex when two suspects in a black vehicle drove by and fired at least four shots before leaving. SAPD is still working to gather information on the shooter.
On Thursday there was a makeshift memorial in the area where Willis was shot.
