Teen shot to death outside apartment; Badly burned dog gets help form community | KENS 5 News Now

SAN ANTONIO — A young man was fatally shot Sunday afternoon on the northeast side of town, near Brooke Army Medical Center. When officers arrived, they found a young male victim had been fatally shot in the parking lot. Police say that a lot of folks heard the gunshots, but nobody has come forward who actually saw anything.

She was named Phoenix by her rescuers and like a Phoenix, she is rising through the ashes as she heals from treatments at a San Antonio animal hospital. Phoenix found her way onto a Nixon woman’s front porch, crying in pain for help after someone set her on fire on Feb. 7.

Phoenix’s story has captivated so many in the community and touched many hearts.
