SAN ANTONIO — SAN ANTONIO — Three teenagers are recovering after a frightening encounter early Sunday morning that ended with a gunshot fired in their direction on the city’s northeast side, police say.
San Antonio police say officers were called to the 11400 block of Perrin Beitel near Center Point Road around 4:10 a.m. for reports of a shooting in progress.
When officers arrived, they found three boys, two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old, who said they had just been dropped off in the area by a ride-share driver when they were approached by an unknown woman.
According to police, the woman accused the teens of breaking into her vehicle and then called her husband to the scene.
Investigators say the man showed up shortly afterward and fired a single round toward the teens. The boys ran from the area to get away.
None of them were hit by the gunfire, but police say they suffered minor injuries while running from the scene. They were treated by medics on site.
The suspect and the woman left before officers arrived. No arrests have been made.
The case is being investigated as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police say the investigation is ongoing and details could change as they work to identify those involved.
