Condolences are beginning to pour in for the Tejano music genius. None more heartbreaking than the post from his son A.B., who says his father died on his birthday.
SAN ANTONIO — Hours after the news broke that Abraham Quintanilla, the father of Tejano queen Selena, had died, the Tejano community began sharing their condolences to honor the legacy of a music legend.
On Saturday, family members announced Quintanilla’s death.
His son A.B., original member of “Selena y Los Dinos,” posted an emotional tribute to his father while saying his heart is “shattered into a million pieces” as his mother now has to “live with the pain of losing her baby and her husband.”
Quintanilla died on A.B.’s birthday.
U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar shared his condolences via Facebook and appreciated how Quintanilla “helped bring Tejano music to the world.”
Joe Lopez y Grupo Mazz shared how the memories made with Quintanilla while managing Selena y Los Dinos will remain in their hearts forever.
Vibe 107.5 San Antonio honored Quintanilla by saying he helped “shape a legacy that changed music forever.”
