TORO joins 33 other mascots recognized for their community impact.
HOUSTON — TORO, the official mascot of the Houston Texans, will be inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025.
TORO joins 33 other mascots, honored for their excellence across collegiate, professional, and independent sports.
To qualify, mascots must have existed for at least 10 years and had a significant impact on their sport and community.
Among this years nominees, TORO earned the most votes from the Executive Committee and the public. In 2024, TORO won Social Media Presence of the Year and Skit of the Year. The 11-time Pro Bowl Mascot was also named NFL Mascot of the Year in 2021.

“We are so proud to have TORO inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame and we share this recognition with Texans fans everywhere,” said Andrew Johnson, senior mascot program manager for the Houston Texans. “The city of Houston helped bring TORO to life by giving him an identity within the community. We can’t wait to celebrate TORO in the Mascot Hall of Fame this season and for him to continue bringing joy to fans of all ages.”
TORO is known for his high-flying stunts, viral social media antics and energizing presence as the conductor of the crowd, according to the Texans.
Off the field, TORO plays a role in the Houston community through his school program, “TORO Takes the BULL Out of Bullying,” and his visits to Texans community partners. He also authored a children’s book, Made To Be A Mascot, which promotes the value of embracing each other’s differences.
