Houston’s star quarterback said he’s a Dodgers fan while he was wearing a Mariners hat and also roots for the Astros.
HOUSTON — Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud ruffled some blue and orange feathers on Saturday when he showed up to NRG Stadium wearing a division rival’s hat.
Not an AFC South foe, rather an American League West foe — the Seattle Mariners.
The team posted a video of him showing up to the stadium wearing the Seattle lid, which led to some angry fans on social media.
The Astros are currently in a tight race with the Mariners in the division. Before Houston’s game ended Saturday night, the Astros held a 1-game lead over Seattle.
After the game, media members asked Stroud about his hat choice.
“I love hats, like, I wear hats all the time. I probably have every team. I still love the Astros, but it’s all good, I understand, but it’s all about the swag, baby,” he said.
The Texans beat the Panthers Saturday afternoon, 20-3.
