Texas A&M’s Jace Laviolette drafted 27th overall by the Cleveland Guardians

Texas A&M outfielder Jace Laviolette holds several all-time records in Texas A&M baseball history.

ATLANTA — Texas A&M University outfielder Jace Laviolette is one step closer to his dream.

Drafted 27th overall by the Cleveland Guardians at the 2025 MLB Draft in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday night, the native of Katy, Texas, now must now bring his powerhouse game to the next level.

In the 2025 season, Laviolette led the Aggies with 18 home runs, 56 runs scored, 57 walks and 61 RBI. He broke the all-time school record for HRs on March 29 and (likely) concluded his career in College Station with 68 total home runs.

Laviolette also holds the program record for most walks (169).

Opposing teams quickly took notice when Laviolette stepped up to bat even as a freshman.

The Katy native hit .835 in SEC play, which ranked first in the conference for 2023, and he recorded the fourth most RBI (36) and second most homers (14).

Laviolette only got better in his 2024 sophomore season.

He registered 29 home runs to become the first Aggie with back-to-back seasons with 20 HRs or more. He produced 78 RBI, drew a record program of 64 walks and tallied 87 runs. Laviolette can elevate his game at critical points in the season, unafraid to swing often for the sake of offense. He batted a career high six RBI against Vanderbilt University on April 12, 2024, to seal an Aggie victory.

Besides batting, the consistent starter – starting all 124 games across the 2024 and 2025 campaigns – is fast and deceptively quick. He stole seven bases on nine attempts in 2024, before snagging another seven the following year.

Laviolette compiled a resume highlighted by power and speed through three seasons in College Station. In Texas A&M record books, he ranks third in RBI (202), fourth in total bases (443) and fifth in runs (193).

His legacy is nothing short of impressive as an Aggie should it be over
