SAN ANTONIO — Kicking-off this Thursday, a new gallery opening will showcase artworks by multiple Texas-based artists.
Agarita Loft Gallery will present the group exhibition “PROOF: Wounds Of Identity,” which showcases original works from six artists from the Lone Star State, including Gloria Sanchez Hart, Celeste De Luna, Brandy González, Thelma Ortiz-Muraida, Hannah Hurricane and Sabra Booth. The exhibition was curated by Jon Hinojosa.
The public opening reception is free and will be held at the Agarita Loft on June 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees can find free parking here. Light refreshments will be available.
The exhibition will be open until August 13. Viewing outside the normal hours will be available by appointment.
“PROOF: Wounds Of Identity,” celebrates the strong and powerful voices of women through various art techniques like woodcut, lithography, linocut and intaglio.
The artworks explore heritage and community with many of the artists weaving their own personal stories into the exhibition.
Other events related to “PROOF: Wounds Of Identity,” include a loft concert on July 7 at 6:30 p.m. and a closing reception for the exhibit on August 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
