SAN ANTONIO — A man wanted on multiple felony warrants was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after a brief foot pursuit during a multi-agency fugitive operation in northwest San Antonio, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Texas DPS said troopers and Texas Rangers assisted the Castle Hills Police Department in the coordinated operation, which also included the Balcones Heights Police Department and the San Antonio Police Department.
The operation took place near I-10 and North Vance Jackson Road at about 3:52 p.m. where troopers located a wanted fugitive identified as 26-year-old Anthony Brandon Ibarra, DPS said.
According to DPS, Ibarra attempted to flee on foot, leading troopers on a brief pursuit. He was later found on the property of a nearby residence and taken into custody without further incident.
DPS said Ibarra had nine outstanding felony warrants at the time of his arrest, including an aggravated robbery warrant issued by the San Antonio Police Department.
In addition to those warrants, DPS said Ibarra now faces new charges of evading arrest or detention on foot with a prior conviction and criminal trespass.
No injuries were reported during the arrest. DPS did not release additional details about the warrants or the investigation.
