Rico Gonzalo from Laredo, Texas was arrested and charged with two counts of smuggling of persons.
WEBB COUNTY, Texas — A man was arrested after a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper discovered two illegal immigrants during a traffic stop in Webb County on Friday.
According to a social media post by Texas DPS Spokesperson Chris Olivarez, the trooper stopped a commercial vehicle along IH-35. During the search of the truck-tractor, the trooper found two illegal immigrants concealed in the gas tank of the vehicle.
The smuggler, identified as Rico Gonzalo from Lardeo, Texas – was arrested and charged with two counts of smuggling of persons.
The troopers referred the two illegal immigrants from Mexico to the U.S. Border Patrol.
