Texas floods one week later | People from all over the country gather at memorial site

People from across the country gathered in Kerr County to remember lives lost in the recent floods.

SAN ANTONIO — One week ago today, floodwaters swept through Kerr County.

People, homes and families were lost. No one understood the devastation this would bring to so many communities.

Today, people from all over the country came together to remember the lives lost.

Dan Beasely was one of them. Beasley traveled from Michigan with a 10-foot cross for those who lost their lives.

Beasley has been carrying it around the county to remind people of who is there for them.

“Just imagine that you lost one of these people in the flood,” Beasley said. “God never said it would be easy; he promised that he would never leave us, and he never goes back on his promise.”

Verda, a resident of Kerrville, wept by the wall of flowers and pictures put up on Water Street to remember the lives lost.

She and so many others are mourning the loss every community in Kerr County has felt.

Beasley even made the effort to erect a cross outside Camp Mystic.
