Texas is putting thousands of catfish in neghborhood lakes across Texas, including four in the Houston area

On Friday, TWPD planned to resume stocking thousands of catfish in 18 neighborhood lakes around Texas, including four in the Houston area. TPWD will keep restocking catfish every two weeks until the end of October, with a break in August.

These are the four neighborhood lakes being stocked around town:

According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, the neighborhood fishing lakes are in areas that have plenty of parking, shoreline access, restrooms, lighting and other amenities.

For those under 17 years old casting a reel, you don’t need a fishing license. Adults do need one, though. Those can be bought for as little as $11. Money from the licenses goes towards access to lakes and fish conservation efforts.
