Texas Lottery unveils $2 scratch-off to aid veterans

The new scratch-off game launches March 17.

SAN ANTONIO — The Texas Lottery announced the release of a new scratch ticket game that’s dedicated to supporting Texas veterans on Monday.

$30,000 Cash is the newest $2 scratch-off that offers more than $12 million in total prizes including eight top prizes of $30,000 across more than 2.1 million winning tickets in the game.

“The Texas Lottery is proud to generate vital funds to benefit Texas veterans and their families,” said Ryan Mindell, executive director of the Texas Lottery. “For over 15 years, our veterans-themed scratch ticket games have provided meaningful contributions to the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance, and the launch of $30,000 Cash continues that important commitment.”

To celebrate the opening of the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas players can bring their non-winning tickets to the museum’s gift shop and receive 15% off any purchase of $25 or more through March 2026.

The National Medal of Honor Museum is located at 1861 AT&T Way and is a national landmark that connects members of the United States military service from the past to the present. According to the Texas Lottery, they will help cover 75% of admission costs for Texas schools and admission is completely free for active-duty Texans.

“From the beginning, our mission has been to inspire and uplift Americans with the stories and values of the Medal of Honor,” said National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation President and CEO Chris Cassidy. “We’re proud to continue our partnership with the Texas Lottery to keep these stories accessible for current and future generations.”

Proceeds from $30,000 Cash will help fund services for veterans and their families through the Texas Veteran’s Commission’s Fund for Veteran’s Assistance.
