Texas mom allegedly provides tainted drink given to son’s classmate

A San Antonio woman was arrested after she allegedly gave a drink to her son that sent a student to the hospital. Jennifer Lynn Rossi, 45, was arrested and charged with causing bodily injury to a child Wednesday, according to a post from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Rossi’s son goes to school at Legacy Traditional School in Alamo Ranch. Investigators say Rossi intentionally mixed a drink with lemon, salt and vinegar because other students were allegedly stealing her son’s drink at school. When Bexar County deputies arrived at the school on Tuesday, they were told that a student was given the drink during a P.E. class.

The ages of the students were not disclosed, but Legacy Traditional School in Alamo Ranch teaches pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, according to the school’s website

When the student consumed the drink, he began to experience nausea and a headache. BCSO said in the post that the contents of the drink were nontoxic but the child was still hospitalized and required ” additional medical monitoring” before being discharged. Rossi was booked on Wednesday with a bond of $1,000. She made bond the same day, according to Bexar County court records.

While people in the comments are saying that the student who consumed the drink should also get in trouble, calling him a “bully,” the BCSO post doesn’t confirm if the other students were allegedly stealing the drinks from Rossi’s son.
