“Your accomplishment for an education never go unnoticed,” wrote the Spurs to the Texas State grad.
SAN ANTONIO — As the kids say, you just got to shoot your shot.
That is precisely what one Texas State University graduate did when he sent the San Antonio Spurs his graduation card, and the team responded with a surprise.
Jace Ethan Antenorcruz wanted to see if the Spurs (among other companies and celebrities) would respond if he sent him his graduation announcement.
“I sent out my graduation cards to different companies/celebrities, and this is what I received,” Jace posted on social media.
What he got back was a treasure trove of memorabilia, autographs, and congratulatory notes.
The Spurs sent him a letter, a keychain, a small pennant, and what looks to be a Spurs magnet.
“Spurs Sports and Entertainment would like to congratulate you on your graduation. Your accomplishment for an education never go unnoticed. As part of the Spurs family, we want to wish you well in all your future endeavors,” wrote the Spurs. “We hope you enjoy the momentos enclosed for you as a token of our appreciation.”
Moments like this drive home how much the Spurs appreciate the community and their willingness to celebrate everyone’s accomplishments, big or small.
The Spurs could have ignored the graduation card but went above and beyond to recognize Jace’s milestone.
In addition to the Spurs gift, Antenorcruz received an autographed photo of actor Adam Sandler, a massive gift box from Chick-fil-A, an autographed photo of Michael Jordan, a letter from the Lego company with a free box of Legos, and so much more.
