Pictures and video from across the Lone Star State flooded social media following the storms.
SAN ANTONIO — Many experienced dented cars or cracked windshields as storms hit on Saturday.
Lee Harrison posted video from Mustang Island in Port Aransas right by the Gulf Shores Condominiums. You could hear the stones smacking the ground, and the rolling thunder.
The city of Portland took a pounding in pictures posted by Eric Magnusson. He said it looked like the city took a lot of bullets, with smashed windshields, a garden center that now looks more like a gun range, and scenes of stones on the ground.
Over in the city of Alice, you could hear the wind and see the damage of what residents had to deal with on Saturday. In Seguin, residents saw smaller stones that still caused significant damage. In Taft, a truck was seen with dents on the doors, body and windshield – the ice even making its way inside.
“Okay here’s the aftermath,” said Robby Pederson, also from Taft, as he surveyed storm damage the next day. “It bent the license plate. The wind was so strong. Smashed the headlight. This is the worst side over here.”
There was also plenty of trouble in nearby Gregory. Steven Lara said he drove to the town to visit his brother but got caught in the storm.
Most of us just had to imagine it but some folks got a real dose of it. If you caught any hail or wild weather on camera, send your videos our way at news@kens5.com.
