‘That wasn’t my son waving guns’ | Mother seeks answers after 14-year-old son’s fatal car crash in San Antonio

The family of 14-year-old Jordan Garcia confirmed he died in a crash involving a suspected stolen car.

SAN ANTONIO — We’ve learned the identity of the 14-year-old thrown from a car on Sunday.

14-year-old Jordan Garcia lost his life after police say he was one of four teens riding in a car believed to have been stolen.

All four were thrown from a car when it crashed on Huebner and Fredricksburg. Garcia died at the scene.

There’s a memorial now for the teen who was thrown from that car Sunday here at Huebner and Fredricksburg, and his mother, Priscilla Sanchez, said she’s looking for answers.

“It’s devastating, it’s my worst nightmare, a parent’s worst nightmare,” Sanchez said.

It’s a nightmare that’s left Sanchez without her son.

She said that as soon as Garcia graduated, he wanted to join the Air Force because when he was little, he would point to the sky at the jets, telling his mom that he would fly in them one day.

On Sunday morning, Garcia was thrown from a car on Huebner and Fredricksburg.

San Antonio police say the car he was in is believed to be stolen, and before it crashed, the kids inside were waving guns and taunting police.

“I want people to know that wasn’t my son…that wasn’t my son waving the guns,” Sanchez said, crying. ” I know wholeheartedly my son wouldn’t do that.”

Sanchez believes her son had willingly entered the car with friends, but said he didn’t know they were in a stolen car or had guns.

She said text messages to his girlfriend show Garcia wanted to go home.

“They didn’t want to take him home, they wouldn’t let him out of the car…that’s not right.”

With very few answers coming her way and a memorial to mark where he son last lay, Sanchez is searching for answers as to why her son’s life was cut short.

“He had plans – he and his girlfriend were going to go to bible camp together – he was good – he was a good person and didn’t deserve this.”

The family has created a GoFundMe to raise money for funeral expenses. Click here to donate.
