The bugs are back! Cirque Du Soleil ‘OVO’ returns to San Antonio

OVO, Cirque du Soleil’s insect-themed show, will enchant San Antonio audiences with acrobatics and vibrant designs.

SAN ANTONIO — The bugs are back in town! An insect-themed Cirque du Soleil experience will delight audiences in San Antonio.

The show is called OVO, which debuted in 2009 to showcase the world of insects and how they interact in their colorful environment. The show involves the usual stunning acrobatics we expect from Cirque du Soleil, along with vibrant costumes and set pieces. One of the most dazzling acts includes 10 scarab beetles on three platforms toss a single beetle back and forth.

The show was created and directed by Deborah Colker and the unique music was specifically composed for the show by Brazilian composer Berna Ceppa.

The show will be coming to the Frost Bank Center Sept. 25-28. The show runs 125 minutes and includes a 25 minute intermission.
