The next chapter for the longest-tenured Texans player won’t be in Houston

After 15 seasons with Houston, Weeks is reportedly signing a one-year deal with San Francisco.

HOUSTON — The average NFL career is just 3.3 years according to the NFL Players Association, but that number doesn’t apply to John Weeks.

After 15 seasons with the Texans, the free agent long snapper is heading west, signing a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers.

Weeks has been the Houston staple since 2010, back when current head coach DeMeco Ryans was still suiting up as a player. With 244 games under his belt, Weeks ranks ninth among active players in total games played and second in games played with just one team.

Weeks, who played his high school ball in Glendale, Arizona, went to Baylor before his NFL career.
