The story behind the Spurs’ ‘Bald Bros,’ Keldon Johnson and Wemby

And a San Antonio Spurs fan is pledging some of his half-court shot winning to local charities.

SAN ANTONIO — Keldon Johnson and Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs showed off a new look before Thursday’s home win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

KJ and Wemby shaved their heads after Johnson had decided to go bald a week earlier.

According to Johnson, he alerted his teammates to his decision and Wembanyama responded that he would join him in taking a razor to their hair.

However, KJ goes on to say, he was hesitant to shave his head until Wemby made a fresh cut in his head. From that point, it was on.

Watch Keldon share the story and how it’s taking some time to get used to the bald head.

SPURS FAN TO GIVE BACK TO SAN ANTONIO CHARITIES

Evan Garr, the Spurs fan who made a $10,000 half-court shot in the Victory Capital Half Court Heroes Challenge on Dec. 23 at the Frost Bank Center, will donate a portion of his winnings to local charities.

He will donate $300 each ($1,500 total) to the following local charities: American GI Forum, Good Samaritan, Thru Project, United Way, and Roy Maas Youth Alternatives.

Garr is from San Antonio and a retired military veteran who currently lives in Colorado as a traveling physical therapist. He is the fourth grand-prize winner of the Victory Capital Half Court Heroes Challenge.

He will be presented with his check soon, with the Coyote and several Victory Capital team members to congratulate him.
