“I’m asking you, please, please turn yourself in, please, please, for your own soul’s sake.”
SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an 18-year-old suspect accused in the killing of a teenage girl at a house party in southwest Bexar County.
Deputies say 17-year-old Alianna Ujueta was shot and then run over during a gathering Sept. 28 in the 13000 block of Luckey Road.
On Thursday, investigators identified Deshawn Suggs, 18, as the suspect in her death. He has not been located.
Ujueta’s parents spoke with KENS 5, describing the pain of losing their daughter less than two months ago.
“There hasn’t been a night or morning that we’re not thinking of her, feeling for her, missing her,” her father said.
Her mother Terri said the loss has consumed their family. “Every thought I have is about her. From the time I wake up to nighttime. I sleep with her blanket — she had a favorite blanket. I can still smell her on it.”
The family said they believe Suggs should turn himself in.
“There’s no way he can sleep at night knowing he has taken the life of our innocent baby girl,” her father Ivan said.
Despite their grief, the Ujuetas said they have chosen forgiveness — and they hope Suggs and his family will do the right thing.
“That’s somebody’s son,” her father said. “He’s only got one right decision to make, and that is to surrender, turn himself in.”
They also urged his relatives and friends to help bring him in. “We’re hoping someone in his family or friends has a heart and a conscience.”
“There’s going to be a price that has to be paid,” her father added. “Whether it was intentional or unintentional, the fact is he did what he did.”
Anyone with information on Suggs’ whereabouts is urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-335-6000, you can remain anonymous.
