These are the busiest (and slowest) early voting locations in Bexar County so far

Early vote totals are outpacing the last two midterm primary elections thus far, according to county data.

SAN ANTONIO — Early voter turnout in Bexar County is so far outpacing the last two midterm primary elections, according to new data.

The county election department shared on social media that more than 40,000 residents have cast a ballot through the first three days of the early voting period. That’s more than twice as many ballots that were cast through the first three days in 2022 (19,328) and a great deal more than the 14,943 who made it to the polls in the same period in 2018.

Democrats are also vastly outvoting Republicans, which aligns with previous elections in the historically blue San Antonio metro.

But there are high-stakes elections for both parties, including showdowns for the U.S. Senate nominations—U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett and State Rep. James Talarico are vying for the Democratic nomination while Texas AG Ken Paxton hopes to unseat incumbent John Cornyn on the GOP side of things. Here in Bexar County, former Mayor Ron Nirenberg is seeking to prevent Peter Sakai from serving a second term as judge. And several candidates are in the running for district attorney, which is an open contest in 2026.

Through three days of early voting in Bexar County, the busiest locations are Brookhollow Branch Library on the north side, Cody Branch Library on the northwest side and Great Northwest Branch Library on the far west side.

If you’re hoping to avoid long lines, the polling places to try for are the Frank Garrett Multi-Service Center near Woodlawn Lake, St. Phillips College on the east side, and Macedonia Baptist Church near Highway 90 and Texas 151. Those three spots combined to service just 334 registered voters Tuesday through Thursday.

Remember: So long as you’re registered as a Bexar County voter, you can vote in any of the 50 polling locations available throughout the county. Early voting continues through Feb. 27, with Election Day set for March 3.
