Childhood memories, cars and shelter have been reduced to rubble after a fire devastates a family ahead of the new year.
SAN ANTONIO — After losing everything Brieanna Schroth is asking for the community’s help with something she feels is irreplaceable.
“We lost my grandparents’ house which my grandfather worked from his own hands, blood sweat and tears,” Schroth said. “It’s something we can’t get back now.”
Schroth says her childhood home, along with a home she was renovating was also lost in a fire that erupted around 3:30 Saturday afternoon while she was at work at Rolling Oaks Mall.
“Our fire marshall that came out was here on the scene told us that he is bringing out another fire marshal to look at the investigation due to how the property and the fire was,” she said.
The Bexar County Fire Marshal’s Office says the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
But that isn’t the end of what Schroth has lost.
“Lost a bearded dragon and my dog is missing from the scene,” she said.
A neighbor says the 6-year-old boxer named Marley ran out of the house when the fire erupted.
“I know he can look a little discouraging because of how big he is but he’s got a nub tail,” Schroth said. “He’s a good dog.”
She’s relying on the community’s support to help her rebuild her life and find what she cherishes most.
“It was definitely a hard, hard day for me knowing that both my animals are loose somewhere.”
