According to SmartAsset, more than a third of Frisco’s workforce works from home.
FRISCO, Texas — Another North Texas city has found itself at the top of a list — this time, for remote workers.
According to a study from SmartAsset, Frisco is the top city in the country for remote work. More than a third of adult workers, about 33.7 percent, work from home, which is a slight decrease from 34.2% last year.
That puts Frisco ahead of Berkeley, California, which placed No. 2 at 31.5%. All of the top five cities other than Frisco saw an increase in remote workers over the past year.
All in all, Frisco has about 42,133 remote workers, the study found. SmartAsset also found the average commute time for in-person workers in Frisco to be 27.3 minutes. Less than 1% of Frisco workers who commute walk to work.
Frisco wasn’t the only North Texas city to place high. McKinney ranked 7th with a remote work force prevalence of 26.7%, and Allen ranked 13th with a remote work force presence of 25.5%.
This comes as Frisco and other DFW communities are gaining more renters than anywhere else in the country.
SmartAsset conducted the study looking at 357 of the largest cities in the country with at least 100,000 people and using data from the Census Bureau’s 1-Year American Community Survey for 2024.
