This Rosenberg store is considered one of the ‘luckiest’ lottery ticket sellers in the Houston area

The gas station draws big crowds ahead of drawings.

ROSENBERG, Texas — A Rosenberg gas station says it is the “#1 lottery seller in Texas” and with an estimated $1.22 billion Mega Millions jackpot Friday night, the store was expected to do big business.

Lucky Rudy’s on Avenue I near Millie Street in Rosenberg is considered one of the luckiest places in the Houston area. Rudy’s sold a $1 million scratch-off ticket in 2019, a $525,000 winning Mega Million ticket in 2004 and a $250,000 scratch off ticket in 2021.

Can recent history in Fort Bend County repeat itself? A $800 million Mega Millions jackpot was sold at Murphy’s USA in Sugar Land in September. Murphy USA is along Highway 90 Alt at University Boulevard.

The Mega Millions drawing was scheduled for 10 p.m. CST Friday night.

Retailers receive 5% commission on lottery tickets sold. Stores that sell tickets that win a jackpot prize receive 1% of the prize money.

If a winning ticket was purchased in Texas, the winner can remain anonymous.
