Texas-based Sky Elements broke the world record for the most remote-operated multirotor drones launching fireworks simultaneously.
MANSFIELD, Texas — 1,068 drones. That’s the number the City of Mansfield had to beat to make it in the record books.
The City of Mansfield is partnering with Coppell-based Sky Elements to shatter the current Guinness World Record for the most remote-operated multirotor drones launching fireworks simultaneously. The drone count to beat is 1,068, and Sky Elements Drones says they did it with 1,164.
The current record is held by PABLO AIR Co., Ltd., a South Korean country on April 24, 2024. The 1,068 drones used in that display more than doubled the previous world record.
But everything is bigger in Texas. A Guinness World Record official will be present to verify the record-breaking attempt.
Good news for North Texans, too. The show was free to attend and watch.
The City of Mansfield will be launching the show at 9 p.m. on Saturday at Mansfield Sports Park. The show will be choreographed to music broadcast at 88.9 FM.
(Editor’s Note: This story has been updated with the correct world record and the number of drones Sky Elements is competing with.)
