Three men arrested, accused of brutal rape at northwest side home

The victim told police the suspects also pointed a gun at her during the assault, according to arrest warrants.

SAN ANTONIO — Three men were arrested Friday accused in the violent rape of a 30-year-old woman.

Daniel Polanco, 31, Mark Martinez, 23, and Mark Valdez, 24, are all facing a charge of aggravated sexual assault.

According to an arrest warrant, San Antonio police officers were called out to Martinez’s home off the 200 block of Inez Ave Friday, for reports of a sexual assault.

The victim had called a ride share driver to pick her up after the alleged assault, and told the driver she had been sexually assaulted by three men. The ride share driver then called 911.

The victim was taken to the Special Victim’s Unit where she outlined the horrors she experienced that evening, according to police documents.

According to an arrest warrant, the victim told detectives she had gotten into a fight with her boyfriend earlier that evening and walked to Martinez’s house nearby. Detectives said the victim knew Martinez a casual acquaintance.

Once she got inside the house, the victim told detectives Martinez started to touch her inappropriately which made her feel “uncomfortable,” according to arrest warrant.

Polanco arrived at the home shortly after, and the victim told him about Martinez allegedly touching her and how it made her feel uncomfortable.

Valdez arrived at the home next, and pulled out a gun with a green laser on it, pointed it at the victim and said, “it would be so easy,” and “no one would look for her,” according to arrest warrant.

According to police documents, that’s when Polanco took the victim to another room in the house where he forcefully sexually assaulted her.

Detectives said the victim was crying during the violent attack, and told Polanco to stop.

The two other suspects then came into the room, and also started to sexually assault her, according to police documents.

According to the arrest warrant, when detectives questioned the three men, Martinez and Polanco said they had “consensual sex” with the victim after she had smoked meth and consumed alcohol.

However, the third suspect, Valdez, denied having any sexual encounter with the victim.

All three suspects were arrested the same night and hauled off to jail.

Each suspect is facing a charge of Aggravated Sexual Assault, bond set at $200,000 for each suspect.
