TikTok purportedly shows disguised man stealing designer bags from La Cantera store; SAPD investigating

Police say the suspect was wearing a black wig, a light blue jacket and a black COVID mask along with beige sweats.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are looking for the suspect who stole multiple purses from the La Cantera area this weekend. 

On Saturday, police were called to the 15000 block of La Cantera Parkway around 8:30 p.m. for a theft in progress. 

According to SAPD, a man entered the store wearing a black wig, a light blue jacket, a black COVID mask and beige sweats. The suspect then took out wire cutters and began cutting the wires that were securely attached to the bags. 

Police say the suspect stole about seven bags and left without paying for them. 

TikTok user, Jessica Oehler posted a video of the alleged theft. The video shows an individual cutting the wires and grabbing purses while in a noticeable disguise. The video matches the description and information provided by SAPD. 

SAPD said this is an ongoing investigation.
