Tim Duncan’s life will be showcased in “The Boy from St. Croix” at the Austin Film Festival.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs legend Tim Duncan will be featured in a documentary about his life in the Virgin Islands, including his time with the team.

The film, titled “The Boy from St. Croix,” will have its world premiere at the 32nd Annual Austin Film Festival, taking place from October 23 to 30, and is directed by his brother, Scott.

“After decades keeping the world at arm’s length, Tim Duncan reveals himself in this intimate portrait of a singularly competitive force who found basketball as an outlet for his drive, becoming one of the world’s most famous athletes even as he never lost his connection to his island home,” the movie synopsis reads.

Duncan retired from the NBA with five NBA titles and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

SPURS ANNOUNCE NEW RADIO VOICE

The Spurs announced that Dan Weiss, who has been with the organization since 2009, will become the radio play-by-play voice of the San Antonio Spurs beginning this upcoming 2025-26 season.

He spent the past seven years as the studio host of Spurs Television’s pregame and postgame coverage and now will succeed longtime broadcaster Bill Schoening, who retired following the 2024-25 campaign.

“Dan has the experience and knowledge to seamlessly carry the tradition of excellence Bill built over two decades,” said Mike Kickirillo, Senior Director of Broadcast at SS&E, in a release. “He’s been a beloved piece of the Spurs fan experience for years now, and we’re excited for Dan to make this new role his own, bringing his energy, preparation and love of the game to every broadcast.”
