Toddler dies after being found unresponsive in Galveston family’s pool, police say

The girl was pulled from the family’s pool by a caretaker. They tried to save her life, but she later died.

GALVESTON, Texas — A toddler died after being pulled out of a pool in Galveston on Thursday.

Galveston police said it happened at a home on Colony Park Circle around 6 p.m. That’s in a neighborhood near the intersection of 69th Street and Seawall Boulevard.

Police said the 23-month-old girl was pulled out of the pool by her caretaker, who started life-saving efforts until first responders got there.

The child was taken to an area hospital. Police said they later learned that she died there.

Investigators said they believe the incident was an accident, but they’re still gathering evidence.

Investigators said more information would be released at a later date.
