SAN ANTONIO — A toddler was rushed to the hospital after an apparent near-drowning at a home on the city’s far west side, according to San Antonio police.
Officers were called to the 1300 block of Cavern Trail just before 10:30 a.m. for reports of a drowning, officials said. When police arrived at the scene, EMS was performing lifesaving measures for the child. The 2-year-old was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Investigators said the family was gathered for a celebration when the child was found face down in a pool for an undetermined amount of time.
The family is cooperating with investigators. No further details were provided.
