Tony Parker anticipates the launch of NBA Europe soon and has entered his French team, ASVEL, in the proposed league.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs legend Tony Parker believes that NBA Europe will happen soon and admits he has entered his French franchise, ASVEL, in the prospective league.
“At the end of the day, we are talking, and we are trying to go in the right direction,” Parker told China Daily. “NBA Europe league for me is just a matter of time. They are coming, and it’s going to happen.”
Said Parker: “If the EuroLeague, the NBA, and FIBA can find a way to work together to build a strong league. That will be amazing for European basketball.”
The NBA is a global sport, as reflected in its popularity and the rise of European players dominating the league today.

From Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama (France) to Lakers’ Luke Doncic (Slovenia), it is clear that the NBA should consider creating an overseas league.
According to China Daily, the new league is expected to consist of up to 16 teams, possibly including Real Madrid from Spain and Galatasaray from Turkey.

The Spurs announced that registration is now open for the 2025 Spurs Coaches Clinic, scheduled for Saturday, October 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Frost Bank Center.
And the best part is that it is a free clinic.
It will be held before the team’s annual Silver & Black Open Scrimmage, inviting coaches at all levels to register and take part in a one-of-a-kind learning experience. Registration for the clinic is now open through Friday, Oct. 3, 2025.
The clinic will be led by Spurs’ Mitch Johnson and members of the Spurs coaching staff. It will provide practical on-court instruction, including drills, teaching progressions, and coaching strategies they can apply to their own teams. The clinic is designed for youth, middle school, high school, and club coaches who are committed to growing the game of basketball.
“The impact that my coaches have had on my life is immeasurable, and I only hope to return that favor,” said Coach Johnson in a release. “This clinic is a chance to support the coaches in our community who are shaping the next generation of players. Investing in coaches is one of the best ways we can continue to grow the game and make a lasting impact both on and off the court.”
In addition to hands-on instruction, each registered coach will receive a complimentary Spurs padfolio, credential, and lanyard, as well as exclusive access to the Spurs Open Scrimmage later in the day, following the clinic. This free event is part of the Spurs’ ongoing commitment to the community by supporting and empowering local coaches through free, accessible programming. The goal is to help shape leaders who will positively impact youth athletes on and off the court.
