Sochan spent time with the 559th Flying Training Squadron.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ Jeremy Sochan, in partnership with USAA, got a first-hand look at what it takes to be a 559th Flying Training Squadron member while visiting JBSA Randolph Air Force Base.
The Spurs forward spent the day with the 559th Flying Training Squadron, experiencing a flight simulator and touring a T-6 aircraft.
He even learned more about the equipment pilots use in their field.

Additionally, he signed autographs and took photos with squadron members and their families. He also swapped ” jerseys ” with the airmen, getting himself a personalized flight uniform in exchange for one of his Spurs jerseys.

The Spurs have always made it a point to let the local military know they are a valuable community member.
In 2022, Keldon Johnson toured JBSA, getting the same experience as Sochan.
“We loved having Keldon Johnson come visit us,” Col. James Miller, 433rd Operations Group commander said. “It raised Airmen’s morale and also gave us a chance to showcase the C-5M Super Galaxy aircraft. Highlighting our mission to the local community is always a pleasure because we are always ready.”
“I feel like I already had a great appreciation for all military,” Johnson said. “My brother is actually in the Air Force. My manager retired from the Air Force.
Since the 2015-16 season, USAA has hosted a current Spurs player at a San Antonio military installation. This visit also aligns with Salute Night, which will be held on Jan. 17 against the Memphis Grizzlies.
