Traffic shut down as DPS troopers investigate fatal crash along Atascosa County highway

Investigators say a pickup truck traveling northbound on IH-37 veered off the road and rolled over, killing one and injuring two others.

ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas — Texas DPS is investigating a fatal crash along IH-37 that caused a major traffic shutdown near the 107 mile marker Saturday morning.

Officials said at approximately 11:05 a.m. troopers responded to reports of a crash in Atascosa County. According to DPS, preliminary details into the investigation indicates that a pickup truck traveling northbound on IH-37 veered off the road and rolled over.

An unidentified woman was confirmed dead at the scene and two men were transported to University Hospital. No word on their condition at this time.

Officials said the roadways would be shut down for several hours as an investigation remains ongoing.
